Bro. Kevin Tribble –Youth Pastor

Bro. Kevin has been serving as Youth Pastor at First Baptist Church, Belmont since June 2006. He accepted Jesus as his personal Savior in 1983. Not fully understanding everything at the young age of six years old, three years later at a Lay Renewal, he re-dedicated his life to Christ and began to seek a closer walk with Christ.

He graduated from Kirk Academy High School in 1995. More interested in his high school sweetheart than school, he postponed pursuing a college degree. In October of 1996 he married his high school sweetheart, Laura. They met in the youth group at Friendship Baptist Church in 1991 and got married five years later (to the day). God has blessed them with two wonderful (when they are asleep) children, daughter Karli, and son Laine. Next to spending time with his family, Kevin enjoys fishing, hunting, and most anything outdoors. He also has a love for animals. (3 dogs, 3 cats, 5 fish, and a turtle, just to name a few)

Kevin’s ministry began long before he ever realized it. Teaching R.A.’s at the age of 18, to go on later to begin teaching a 7th and 8th boys Sunday School Class, just one year later. Beginning to chaperone youth trips, and filling in in the absence of a youth minister, he began to feel the call into the Lord’s ministry. Kevin was ordained as a Deacon, at Friendship Baptist Church Grenada, MS in 2004, and went on to accept the call and surrendered full-time to the Ministry in 2005. During the last ten years (95-05) he did begin attending Holmes Community College in Grenada, MS. He plans to continue his education by pursuing an Associate of Divinity Degree from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary.

Here are a few interesting things you might want to know about Kevin:

·        I Love Music! All kinds: Elvis, tobyMac, The Gaithers, Family Force 5. (Get the point?)
·        I am a Ham Operator: KE5NZU
·        The letters of Karli and Laine’s names came out of Kevin and Laura. (KEVINLAURA)
·        I can do a 360 on a skateboard.
·        I am an only child.
·        I have a fish aquarium on my desk.
·        Laura is two years older than I am.

I count it a blessing to be a part of the Family of God. I never want to take my relationship with Jesus Christ for granted. If it had not been for faithful, dedicated men and women who gave of their time to share Jesus with me, I would not be where I am today. By God’s grace He allowed Jesus to suffer and die on Calvary, defeating death and the grave, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. Faith in that alone is what can secure your eternity in Heaven. God’s grace is sufficient.
